NanoFrontier Co., Ltd. Representative Director Seiya Inoue to Speak at Japan Junior Chamber Inc. 'Summer Conference 2026' Forum 'The Study of Challenge You Never Knew'
NanoFrontier Representative Director Seiya Inoue to Speak at “Summer Conference 2026” Forum
NanoFrontier Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Sendai, Miyagi; Representative Director: Seiya Inoue; hereinafter “NanoFrontier”) is pleased to announce that Representative Director Seiya Inoue will speak at the forum “The Study of Challenge You Never Knew” (Saturday, July 18, 2026, 15:00–16:00, PACIFICO Yokohama Main Hall), held as part of Summer Conference 2026 organized by the Japan Junior Chamber Inc. (JCI Japan).

Background of the Speaking Engagement
In June 2026, Inoue received the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Encouragement Award at JCI JAPAN TOYP 2026 (The 40th Outstanding Young Persons Award). The recognition was given in acknowledgment of his commitment to addressing social challenges in the environmental, energy, and information infrastructure sectors—including rapid detection of PFAS water contamination, long-duration battery materials that do not rely on rare metals, and high-thermal-conductivity nanofluids for energy-efficient data centers—all built upon proprietary nanoparticle technologies developed over more than 30 years at Tohoku University. His contributions to regional revitalization through the creation of employment opportunities for AI engineers and science and technology professionals in Sendai were also recognized.
This forum is an interactive program in which TOYP award recipients share real examples of their own challenges. As one of the award recipients, Inoue will speak about the decision-making process that led him to found a Tohoku University–born startup, the doubts and struggles he faced along the path to commercialization, and the realities of building a business that aims to take on the world from Sendai and Miyagi.
About the Forum “The Study of Challenge You Never Knew”
This is a program designed to help participants learn, through dialogue with speakers, the mindset and decision-making frameworks needed to translate a passion for regional and social issues into concrete action. By delving not only into success stories but also into the decision-making and trial-and-error that lay behind them, the forum provides each attendee with an opportunity to think about their own “next step” in the context of their own community and work. On the day, entrepreneur Hiroyuki and talent Hyakka Ryoran will take the stage to explore the challenges of the award recipients in depth.

Comment from the Representative Director

“Following the receipt of the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Encouragement Award at TOYP 2026, I am deeply honored to have been given the opportunity to speak at a forum like this. When we talk about ‘challenge,’ it tends to be framed as a story of brilliant success—but in reality, it is an accumulation of small decisions and repeated trial and error. I hope that by sharing not only the process of translating university research into real-world applications, but also the doubts and judgments I personally faced along the way, I can give each attendee a chance to find ‘a step they, too, can take.’”
Representative Director, Seiya Inoue
